If you are wondering what is a good cause to get involved in why not take a look at Habitat for Humanity! There are local groups near by who are always looking for volunteers! you set your hours and choose the options that suit your qualifications or interest. Check out the site and look for a local group near you! I am going to take some photo’s and install some computers in my spare time. Hopefully I’ll see you at some of the events!

Earth: The Sequel—The Race to Reinvent Energy and Stop Global Warming!
Discovery Channel has made a television special out of Fred Krupp’s best seling book Earth: The Sequel. This really follows on from Al Gores, documentarys and is a must see for those who are concerned about the future of our environment and the use of energy. You can tune in to the program on Wednesday March 11th at 10 pm EST. Pledge to watch the program and show your support at the Environmental Defense Fund

You can zoom in on an area of interest and get details of the volunteer organizations for that area. If you see something you are passionate about, the rest is up to you. Starting at 18:00 GMT on May 10, 2008, locations in Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, and Rio de Janeiro will be linked for a live program of powerful films, live music, and visionary speakers. The entire program will be broadcast – in seven languages – to millions of people worldwide through the internet, television, and mobile phones.
The 24 short films to be featured have been selected from an international competition that generated more than 2,500 submissions from over one hundred countries. The films were chosen based on their ability to inspire, transform, and allow us see the world through another person’s eyes. Details on the Pangea Day films can be viewed here.
The program will also include a number of exceptional speakers and musical performers. Queen Noor of Jordan, CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, musician/activist Bob Geldof, and Iranian rock phenom Hypernova are among those taking part.
