Just had to post this one… my daughter Roxanna Hope taken with my favorite Sony A-600 I used a little high contrast process to highlight the black and white effect. Hope you like it.

A shot on windy day on Redondo Beach looking toward Torrance Beach into the sun, lots of spray and surf…
Waiting for the Surf by Mike Hope
I’ll be looking out for some more dramatic shots when the weather gets rough. I’m still pushing the Sony A7rii and this weekend I’m hoping to put the 24-240mm lens through it’s paces. I’ll let you know how it goes…
Hope you like it!

A very wet and windy day in Redondo Beach. Rushed down to the pier to get some quick shots. It was really quite dramatic with waves breaking over the rocks and wind howling through the wires on the railings. Quite dramatic. It was a lot of fun but the wind had a cutting edge to it and I did not have a jacket, so as soon as my camera battery ran out so did I!! Hope you like the picture…
Thanks for taking a look,

Hi all,
Still getting to know the new Sony A7Rii and am loving it more and more… I was walking about the weekend before last, when it was a little windy, a took this photo of the Manhattan Pier with an old Canon FD 28mm lens on the A7Rii.
I was using manual focus with focus assist and the built in stabilization, which is a fantastic advantage when using old lenses on the Sony body!! So far the depth of contrast and color from the Sony far exceeds anything else I have used. I am really looking forward to using some first class Zeiss lenses and think I will have to rent a couple for a weekend try out. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again for taking a look,
Mike Hope
Just walking around on Hermosa Beach when the weather was a little less pleasant and left the beach a little empty, I grabbed a chance for this late afternoon shot with the new Sony A7Rii and an old Canon FD 28mm manual focus just topped it off with a few sailing boats enjoying the high breeze before returning to Redondo King Harbor…
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!!! Have a wonderful holiday season…
Manhattan Pier in Black and White by Mike-Hope. Still using the Sony A7Rii and loving it more each day. Saving up for some good Sony Zeiss lenses so still using an old Canon 24-70 hand held for these quick shots on the way home…
Here’s one I shot yesterday evening in color…
Playing around on the beach this weekend with the Sony A7Rii and an old Canon 28mm FD f/2.8 manual focus. It really takes some nice shots, very clear if you get the focus right…

Hi all,
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving… We were up in Sonoma for the weekend and I had a chance to get out and about with the new Sony A7Rii . I got a couple of shots in the Benziger Winery in Glen Ellen with an old Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L series and they came out quite well… I’ll post some more soon and thanks for taking a look!

Just started testing the Sony A7rii with Canon 40mm and other Canon L series lenses. One thing I love about this little lens, apart from the price, is the sharpness and quality. On the Sony A7rii when I zoom in to crop there is still so much clarity. Also, there is very little chromatic aberration with this one. Not sure if I can get a lens hood but this is sure to be a new walk around. I don’t know if it’s just me but the angle appears to be more along a 24 to 35mm on this Sony. I’ll have to do some comparisons and let you know…
